Talkin' at the Side of Your Mouth

One thing I hate is when someone can't be straight up with me. In my last post I talked about one of my friends who is mad at me. Almost after a week later she finally responded to my email, which was last Sunday. She told me that she was not mad at me (Hmmph, she could of fooled me...) and the reason why she is distancing herself away from me is because I am "emotionally exhausting" and a negative person and to add insult to injury wrote that it is a drag to hear me talk about the same things all over again. Well, excuse the hell out of me! Now, I admit I am certainly not the poster child of positivity, after all, this blog is called crankymemoirs! However, I am not a negative person. This past six months has been tough. So, I haven't been in the best of spirits. But does that give her a reason to totally write me off? I mean, how rude is it to just start ignoring a person just because you think they are "negative" or "draining" without even telling them why? At least be honest and say it to my face! I would have respected her so much more. And as for complaining about the same things I sat and listened to her vent about her job and how much she was still in love with her ex over and over again and not once passing any judgement! I was a shoulder to cry on and isn't that what true friends are for? They do not leave when you need them most just because they bring you down. We've been only hanging out for less than a year and through her actions she is just not worth it. Obviously, she is not a true friend. She makes realize the true value of the my friends who actually care about me. Oh, well, as my mother says comme ci comme ca!

On another note...I voted today and the fact that voting makes me feel like I'm making a difference is so exhilarating!! I know, I sound corny, but who cares! Oh, yeah, I voted for Obama.
